Left Handed?

She's fascinated with Rocky! That's what she's laughing at in this picture. He was off to the side.
Me and Mommy getting ready for the Olive Garden!
Look at that big belly!!!
Yummy Peaches!!! She has to "assist" me when I'm feeding her which is how she gets so messy!
So, we've recently discovered that Rylee reaches for everything with her left hand! I thought it was too early to tell whether she'd be right or left handed, but Chris and I are pretty sure she's going to be left handed.
This weekend started off kinda crazy bc Chris and I found a house online that we fell in love with and it just so happened the price was right. This was definitely our dream house. . . completely secluded way out in the country with a little pond. Big beautiful wide open kitchen! So as we started looking into we found out that it wasn't completely finished and was now bank owned. So that led to the type of loan that we could get. There were two types of loans we were looking into that allowed you to put down less money. Well turns out those two loans have VERY strict guidelines and wouldn't approve a house that wasn't all the way finished. So then it was a scramble to figure out what the next step would be if any at all. Plus to add to the chaos we found out that someone had already made an offer on our "dream home" and it had been accepted, but they were willing to take the "best offer". So our realtor got the key and we rounded up our "favorite carpenter (Chris's stepdad)" and asked him to take a look and see what he thought. All of this was rush, rush, rush because there had already been an offer made and also bc there were still other people wanting to look at the property. Well after all that we decided to turn it down. Turns out it wasn't as kid friendly as we would've liked it to be. It had a pond on one side and the river on the other. Along with lots of rocks and hardly any flat land. So it's back to the drawing board. Although we're not in any huge hurry since Chris doesn't get out till 2011. So we'll wait and pray and see what God has in store for us. The one thing i'm not good at is waiting!!

Bauer Family Happenings

This has to be the most adorable picture! She looks so cute in her little beach hat!
Wow! I look at this picture and can't believe how big she looks here! This is the new "bouncy" seat that replaced her old one. This is her big girl chair!
"Sportin my new shades!"
"Chillin in my jammies!"

Wow! It's been a long time since i've posted anything and so much has happened in that time. Rylee is now 4 months old and growing faster than Chris or I ever imagined!! She's the size of a 6 month old. . . weighing in at 17lbs 26in long. She holds her head up all on her own now and is so close to sitting up. She hates anything that makes her feel as if she's lying down. In fact she even gave up her bouncy seat! Trust me that was a huge deal! We didn't think she was ever going to get tired of that thing even though she was way too big for it. Her butt dragged the ground when she was in it, but she didn't seem to care. We even went and bought her a new one that was more her size and should follow her till she's a toddler, but she hated it! The one we bought wasn't as entertaining. It didn't light up and play music continiously so she didn't want anything to do with it. So for a month or more it just sat here. Then about 2 weeks before she turned 4mo she decided she wanted to sit up. So anytime you buckled her into her carseat you could see her straining to lift herself up. Same w her bouncy seat. The old one kept her in a reclining position and she wasn't having any of that. She even enjoys sitting in her highchair watching me clean the kitchen. About the same time she started tryin to sit up her sleeping habits changed. She was napping after every bottle so she was taking 2 naps in the am and 2 in the pm and then sleeping 8 hours through the night. But now she almost refuses to take a nap during the day! She also started eating off a spoon for the first time. And let me tell you you better watch your hand if you're the one feeding her bc she's like a pirhana when she sees that spoon coming towards her! She's at such a fun stage right now. Chris and I are having a blast w her. She talks more than ever and laughs and squeals when you talk to her. She's starting to get to that point where you can actually play w her.

It's been a busy couple of months here. I started back to work in July, so Rylee has been going to a sitter's M-F while Chris and I are at work. The days just fly by. They start around 5am when Chris and I get up to start the process of getting ready for work and end when we go to bed around 8 or 9 that night. I really enjoy being back at work. I didn't think I would, but once I started I realized how much I missed interacting w other adults. Rylee does great at the sitters and the sitter is great w her so it makes it easier to leave her and go to work. About the same time we started leaving her at the sitters we started feeling better about taking her to the nursery at church and dropping her off while we attended the service. They do a good job w her too. And of course she loves it bc someone holds her nonstop while she's there!

Randomness. . .

Not much has been going on with us these past couple weeks so I've not had a whole to write about. The only thing new would be Rylee eating her first foods. She started eating a combo of cereal, fruit, and formula. Let me tell you she loves her fruit!! She gulped it down in record time. Other than that I'm just counting down the days till I have to go back to work and trying to treasure what little time I have left with her.
Well, not a whole to talk about so I'll leave you with some cute pictures.

Father's Day

So, being that today is Father's Day I thought I would give a little shout out to my two favorite Daddy's. . . mine and Rylee's. Chris is a wonderful daddy already and Rylee has for sure got him wrapped around her finger and i'm sure it's only going to get worse the older she gets!
As for my dad I just want to make sure he knows just how grateful I am that he's my dad. I thank God constantly for him and for the role that he played in my upbringing. I am so thankful that he cared enough to take me to church every sunday. He has taught me so much and for that I am forever grateful. I love you Dad, Happy Father's Day!!

We just got back last week from Rylee's first trip home to Indiana. We had a great time visiting and spending time with everybody. Rylee did really good on the ride there. It was a 17 hour drive!!!!! It was a crazy 10 days, but we loved every minute of it and hated to leave everybody. While we were there Rylee started sleeping through night!!!!!!!!!! It was kinda scary though the first time she did it. She went to bed around 9:30 that night and didn't wake up till 4:30 that morning! When she first woke up I had no idea what time it was, but had woke Chris up with the promise that if he got up with her this time I'd get up with her for her 4 o'clock bottle (she usually eats every 4 hours). Chris got up with her but she was extremely fussy and wouldn't settle down. I could hear her screaming so I got up to see what was going on only to realize it was 4 in the morning and that nothing was wrong with her she was just EXTREMELY hungry and getting more impatient by the minute as Chris and I tried to figure out why she was screaming. . . hahaha!
While it might've been a crazy 10 days it was alot of fun and also kind of bittersweet. I've always missed being back in Indiana with our family and friends but never as much as what I do now that I've had Rylee. I didn't just hate to leave it actually broke my heart. I hated taking Rylee away from family that cares so much about her but rarely gets to see her. Thankfully we'll be back in just 2 short years and in between then we'll be back as much as we possibly can for visits. But for those of you who are close to home or close to family don't take any day you have with them for granted!

The Cheeseburger Story

I just have to share this funny story with everyone. It was so cute! So on our way back from Indiana we stopped at Hardees so Chris and I could grab a bite to eat and also so Rylee could take her bottle. So we go through the drive thru and then pull around and park in the parking lot. Since Chris was driving he was going to eat while I fed Rylee. I get Rylee out of her carseat and bring her around to the front so I can sit and feed her. She's just started eating when Chris pulls out his cheeseburger and starts eating. Oh my gosh I have never seen someone turn their head so fast. . . Rylee must've smelled daddy's cheeseburger and thought that would be better than her bottle because she did a complete 180 in my arms all the while keeping the bottle in her mouth!!! She just stared at him the entire time he was eating that cheeseburger. I couldn't get her to take her eyes away from him and that sandwich! So then to be mean Chris waves the sandwich in front of her face. . . hahaha! I'm pretty sure Chris and I neither one have ever laughed so hard in our lives. If I could've taken a picture of her watching him with that sandwich I swear we could've won some award or something it was just so darn cute!!
